Trendy Tuesday: Nautical Nice

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

This is the trend that WON’T Quit!! We’ve seen Nautical trending for the past few Summer’s, but with styles like this it’s hard to let it go. This summer, get in touch with your Nautical Nice side, one more time. This look is easily achieved using your red, white, and blue color palette, but feel free to use other basic colors to perosnalize your look. Pairing striped with polka dots as seen on the bandeau below is also a great way to give this a flirty feminine look. For the past summer we LOVED the high waist short and high waist pant, and we’re proud to say we still do. This summer don’t be afraid to show a little skin with your crop tops and harem pants.

Whatever you do ladies, Keep it CUTE!!

Show us how you get in touch with YOUR Nautical Nice side :-)

Fashionably Yours,

Bry Delicia

Clomping Around in Clogs!

Monday, April 25th, 2011

The cycle of a trend does not last as long as we may like, but that’s why we invest in some timeless shoes so we can decide for ourselves when they need a little R&R in our closets. With the return of the clogs, we can successfully say that the 90’s have come full circle. Women’s sandals have been transformed into a series of studs, leather and wooden platforms and we have our beloved clogs to thank for them!

All around the international fashion hubs, no matter what the weather too, I have seen women brave it out and put their great legs forward in these women’s dress sandals, which essentially work for any outfit, we can piece together. From dressed up to casual, these sandals are one of women’s sandals’ most versatile and easy to style shoe. If you haven’t gotten your hands on your pair, shop Make Me Chic for your ultimate spring and summer must have!

Once we invest in a fabulous pair of shoes, we are faced with the delightful task of pulling together our finest threads to make the shoe pop! Sandals have opened doors for us this past year as we’ve seen many a fashionistas on the street and on the runways, rock their women’s dress sandals in the form of clogs with a cute pair of frilly socks! Keeping your feet warm while your outfit is smoking hot is a brilliant little amendment to our otherwise strict rule about keeping our sandals summer friendly.

Trumpet O’ Beauty

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

Minimalism and feminine chic have been the reoccurring theme in the designers’ shows we’ve been seeing since the close of the Spring 2011 Fashion Shows. What we can take from it is endless as our options in imagining our fantasy-like outfits can now be a reality as the runways come strutting into our closets.

One item in women’s fashion apparel that has quietly made its way into the hands of fashion bloggers and fashionistas alike, is the trumpet skirt. Coined as a trumpet skirt for its clean lines and the way it flares out slightly at the hem, this elegant and chic skirt has become a staple in women’s fashion apparel for the upcoming seasons.

What I personally love about this skirt, is its ability to really transcend the trendiness of today’s fashion, to surpass the hipster mentality of short mini skirts that hey, we all love, but could use a switch up from time to time.

American designer Tory Burch debuted one of my favorite colors in this wonderful style: a navy blue trumpet skirt paired with a collared white shirt tucked in and a pair of heeled women’s sandals. The outfit on its own is so easy and simple, yet so telling of its class and elegance, I can hardly wait to get my hands on a skirt much like that one!

Louis Vuitton’s Fringe Frenzy

Monday, October 18th, 2010

There are always those handful of designers you wait for, who also know this, and schedule their shows for the grand finale of fashion week in Paris. Louis Vuitton is no doubt eyeballed and anticipated anxiously by fashionistas alike to see what their vision for the following season of high fashion is. This time around, they did not disappoint with their Africa and Asia inspired dresses, gowns, and suits that were present with beautiful shades of gemstones on different textures.

With a collection that counts more than 50 pieces, I must highlight my ultimate favorites and bring you an idea of how this can be incorporated into your own style. For the eclectic fashionista, any collection, whether personally embraced or not, can be a springboard to inspiration on many levels.

Women’s cocktail dresses have been done and done again. The safe way to go would be to don a short mini-dress in a bold or demure color, depending on your mood and the venue for the night. However, what I saw from Louis Vuitton’s collection was an opportunity to change up our preconceived notion of what a women’s cocktail dress needs to look like, and open our minds to the more creative side of fashion.

Fringe has been an understated trend that has always been around in fashion, but has quietly been taken by a select crowd of those who dare to bear the flashy fringe. Louis Vuitton takes this to another level by adding colored fringe on their shiny metallic women’s cocktail dresses to create an almost flapper-like look with the women, who also are wearing flat sandals.

Women’s sandals are taking another turn for the simple and comfortable. From Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection, we see that the simple T-strap sandals can be worn with even the most busy cocktail dresses from their high end line. For a collection of exotic and formal outfits, it’s an interesting blend of fashion to put a simple pair of flat sandals with the eclectic line of LV.

I’m sure we all have our favorite flat sandals we love to pull out with our casual wear, but now consider pairing your favorite women’s cocktail dress with a pair of simple women’s sandals. When your dress has the fringes that sway back and forth and has all the glitz and glamour of a flapper girl, try a pair of flat sandals with your dress and bring the chic back to a class dress with a modern day twist.

Multi-Buckled Gladiator Sandals in Multi Chic Ways!

Monday, September 13th, 2010

In the world of celebrities, we are accustomed to seeing the fabulous heels and the highest stilettos the world has to offer. But when it comes time to hit the scene in casual wear, the shoe to go to, is still the comfortable fashionable gladiator sandal shoes. The typical gladiator sandal shoes wrap around the ankles with various straps. But a unique look that can be worn in a variety of ways, by celebrities and every day women alike, are the multi-buckled gladiator sandal shoes that slide all the way up your ankle.

With a shoe that is quite bold on its own, a chic way celebrities have worn these shoes is with fashionable women’s apparel. Whether they’re leather or suede, denim or rompers, what’s important is the balance between the skin of your legs and the unique women’s sandals.

Normally, when we grab our gladiator sandals, we can wear anything from dresses and skirts, to jeans and shorts. The low details of the gladiator sandals allow its versatility and simplicity. However, these multi-buckle gladiator sandal shoes are a rare breed of women’s sandals that roar a more vivacious sound to it. It’s hard to wear a demure outfit with a pair of women’s sandals so bold that the women’s apparel you fit with it, has no choice but to speak the same.

My choice for an outfit to pair with these funky and fresh sandals, would be a rocker type look. With leather shorts, a vintage t-shirt, and a fitted black leather jacket with loose hair would look great with these sandals. Whether in black or brown, the hard look of the leather gives you the solidity to look like really you’re part of the band.
