J. Crew’s 2011 Must-Have’s!

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

One of the quietest yet the most gorgeous collections out there every season, has to be J. Crew. With the fresh take of high fashion couture turned into something wearable and able to style for every fashionable woman out there.

A beautiful turquoise paisley print on a short women’s jumpsuit was one of my favorite outfits displayed for their  Spring 2011 collection. Bright bold hues mixed with an Aztec or unique print makes these pieces easily wearable for any night out, a day time event or even on your vacation to somewhere a little more magical than your hometown. When wearing a women’s jumpsuit, we can take notes from J. Crew’s collection.

With the flowy material of any women’s jumpsuit, whether it cuts all the way down to your ankle or stops at the thighs or knees, to add more shape to your figure take a nice thick brown belt to complement the natural shades of the fabric. When you cinch the brown belt at the waistline, it immediately takes the look of your jumpsuit or romper and creates a distinct waistline and thus adds even more style to a simple cut.

For the shoes, the most important part of all, I love the style of the olive green socks with the strappy women’s dress sandals. Any type of women’s dress sandals are bound to go one of two ways. If worn without a pair of socks, the sandals can be viewed as being rather fancy! But, when worn with socks, those same exact shoes can now become a pair of shoes that are both causal yet dressy, but more urban with a pair of socks. Even though the romper is playful and fun, you can still industrialize your look a bit with the dressed up sandals worn with a pair of cotton socks in a neutral shade. You don’t want your socks to be too overpowering or irrelevant to the color of the shoe. Therefore, it is important to consider the fabric and color of the material worn.

Another simple and easily do-able outfit from J. Crew’s collection has to be a tangerine-orange Aztec print mini skirt worn with a beige knitted cropped sweater, loosely tucked in and a pair of tan buckled women’s ankle boots. This look is ready for the last leg of summer and early cool Fall. Which is the perfect time to stock up on your last few items that will carry you through before boots and coats become your uniform. Taking a soft cotton print skirt and adding texture with a chunky knitted sweater is the perfect combination. And finally, ending with a leather tan buckled pair of women’s ankle boots and a matching cross over bag is the perfect way to end an easy-to-do ensemble that you can put together all year round!

Colorful in Carlos Miele!

Friday, October 21st, 2011

One of the most popular colors we saw draping the shoulders and hips of the world’s famous supermodels, has been the tangy shade of orange. Sweet and citrus-y, the orange women’s jumpsuit that paraded down the runway of Carlos Miele’s Spring 2012 Ready to Wear fashion show in New York. Women’s jumpsuits have been a hot item since early 2010 and as we can see, this trend isn’t going anywhere. When we see a solid piece of women’s clothing stick around for that long, you have to take notice and begin to revel in all the glorious styles it begins to unfold with!

More than anything, I love how designer Carlos Miele really takes into consideration using highly saturated hues with his designs in his women’s dresses. Whether it be a dress or a jumpsuit, Carlos Miele plays with the season’s boldest colors to give us that pop of color we all crave in our sea of black and whites we typically tend to gravitate towards. So fear not all you color lovers! Carlos gives us something to hope for as he unveiled his glorious shades that give us the head’s up that beautiful tones of luscious shades of tropical colors are not going anywhere.

On Carlos’ orange women’s jumpsuit, my eyes were drawn irrevocably to a golden belt that served to cinch the women’s jumpsuit that may typically have been rather loose on the figure. Take into consideration that flowy material does to your figure and do not hesitate to grab a piece of women’s accessories that is vital to your wardrobe. We have something to learn from the great Carlos Miele and that is to never forego a golden chunky belt when you see one. Whether it’s on your jumpsuit or a dress, or even an oversized white collared shirt (my personal favorite), a strong piece of women’s accessories can be what determines your look from looking ordinary to glamour-chic!

But onto my final and favorite piece of clothing from Carlos Miele’s spring 2012 ready to wear line has to be this fanned out white and turquoise women’s dress that would make the red carpet’s paparazzi go bonkers. Today, it’s not enough to just have a great color and cut to a dress, but the added texture to the interwoven colors of this women’s dress is signature Carlos Miele. The next time you’re out shopping for your favorite women’s dress, think of channeling your inner Miele and try color plus texture for a fabulous combination that will guarantee you a night of glamorous fun!
