Shoe Trends To Watch Out For in 2012

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

As another year comes to a close, we wish you better health and more success in all your endeavors! But most of all, we wish you a more fashionable year ahead. And to help you do just that, we are giving you the lowdown on shoe trends to watch out for in 2012.

With the Holiday shopping frenzy still on (Think about all those post-Holiday promos!), now is the best time to stock up on would-be, hot footwear trends for 2012. Of course, you can still keep your ankle boots, wedge boots and rhinestone stilettos but if you want to welcome the year in fashion, then here are five shoe trends to watch out for in 2012.

1. Metallic Toes. Who says glitz is just for the Holidays? Next year, glitz will rule as metallic toes make a dash for the fashion spotlight. Whether it’s metallic ankle boots or metallic pumps, this style is definitely in. And it’s not just fashionable, it’s functional too. Metallic toes are supposed to increase your footwear’s longevity so that’s fashion and function for you.

2. Braided Sandals. Whenever you want to let your feet breathe, how about a pair of braided sandals? The more unusual the braiding style and the crazier the color, the better! It’s a great and simple way to add an extra oomph to any outfit.

3. Shiny Shoes. Shiny shoes aren’t just for Halloween. It’s always a great choice for party wear. And you can wear it as pumps, as flats or as ankle boots. For maximum showstopper effect, choose gold or silver.

4. Transparent Shoes. When you think transparent shoes, you don’t usually think fashionable. But not in 2012. This trend is slowly but surely gaining mass appeal and the lure of sheer vinyl is attracting more fashion-forward ladies. If you want to be among them, this is the kind of women’s shoes that you want.

5. Pointed  Toes. How do you feel about ankle boots with pointed toes? Positive, hopefully, because in 2012, pointed toes are taking over the rounded toes domination. Get ready for a sharper fashion year ahead.

What will you miss most about 2011’s fashion trends? And which ones are you most looking forward to? We want to know

Women’s High Heel Shoes Has Gone Clog Crazy!

Monday, August 16th, 2010

For Chanel’s 2010 Ready To Wear fashion show, the crowd was breathless after the clog sandal was showcased in various styles and vibrant colors to bring back an old look in a big way.

Fashion will forever continue to run in a cycle, where the new is but a modern twist on an old style that has staked its claim and will forever be one of your eternal women’s shoes that will always be in style, no matter what decade.

The simplicity of the clog can hardly be tampered with. Chanel took the clog sandal, and continued to work with its wooden platform and high heels. Ready to wear for the Fall and Winter, the clog sandal is still qualified as a women’s high heel shoe and gives you the lift you need for your dressing up or down.

Tough leather, in brown and black is the classic look to the clog sandal. Different details are now being tacked on to these women’s shoes in the form of adornments, or even taking away from its original form.

While cutouts have been big in the world of apparel, cutouts in shoes now are taking hold as well. Peep toe clogs are a unique twist to the clog sandal, but look excellent with bare legs, or even with knee high socks or stockings for the Fall. The beauty of women’s casual shoes, and particularly the clog sandal, is its ability to really forge any weather and still end up looking chic. To create a dainty look with a bulky sandal, women are wearing frilly socks that fold over at the ankle, paired with feminine skirts and shorts, to balance out the utilitarian look of the shoe.

Adornments and details such as laces, buckles and clasps are all over these clogs as well. Make Me Chic has a great selection of clog sandals that are taking to the trend of frays. These folded over frayed, tucked in to buckles with studded bottoms are the essential Fall clog sandal to have. Its quiet combination of all the facets of a detailed shoe make it the perfect women’s high heel shoe to wear with your favorite pair of jeans, or casual maxi dress.

Fashion bloggers have eagerly taken to this resurfacing trend and are incorporating their own taste into these women’s casual shoes. Grab your own pair and have a blast strutting around town in this season’s hottest shoe!
