Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

It’s been a great few seasons in the world of fashion trends. One trend that’s dominated through the Fall and straight through Spring, has followed us right into Summer:  Suede.

As a social media coordinator, I spend my days stalking and obsessing over current and up & coming trends. One of the most exciting facts we’ve learned about suede this year is its ability to transform any style into an outstanding trend.

From ankle straps to penny loafers, from wedges to Gaga- suede exceeds its reputation from feel good to look good.

Tips When Wearing Ankle Boots with Skinny Jeans

Friday, February 25th, 2011

We all know that one of the best ways to wear ankle boots is to wear them with skinny jeans. Whether you choose to wear flat ankle boots, gladiator sandal boots, or high heeled ankle boots, you can never go wrong with a pair of skinny jeans. But even when wearing them with skinny jeans, there are certain factors you need to take into consideration so you can rock the look without alerting the fashion police.

1. First of all, make sure you have a pair of pants with a good fit. Go one size higher if you feel your skin bulging over the top. A little bit of a high waist on your skinny jeans is actually considered fashionable.

2. When choosing the color and style of your ankle boots, remember that your choice reflects the look that you want to project. If you are feeling a bit playful, flat ankle boots will be more appropriate. For a sleek, urban vibe, pointy toe ankle boots will do the trick. To up the hotness factor, nothing beats a pair of high heeled ankle boots.

3. A little contrast isn’t bad but it would be preferred and much more fashionable, if your ankle boots and skinny jeans are of the same shade. You don’t want these two competing for attention. Opt for darker shades. It creates the illusion of longer and slimmer legs. If you are unsure about which dark shade to choose, remember: you can never go wrong with black.

4. Here is where it’s okay to go for contrast: choosing your top and your accessories. Pair your skinny jeans and ankle boots with something loose and billowy. Wearing something tighter is a little bit over the top. Match it with some chunky fashion jewelry like hoop earrings and a multi-layered necklace to finish off the look.
