#ThrowbackThursday

This week we’ve been chatting it up about our new Asassyn Heel!! We’re in love with the shoe, you’re in love with the shoe, and she’s in love with the shoe! You’re probably wondering who SHE is, right? Two words, Lady Gaga.  We continue to be inspired by Lady Gaga’s ever changing style. She’s not afraid to push the envelope and really dive into fashion head first. Our Asassyn shoes are truly a tribute to her style and cutting edge take on fashion. Take a look at a few pics of Lady Gaga in her heel less platforms. You can see how she would inspire a shoe like the Asassyn.

Walking True to Blue

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

As I flip through my closet and look through my pants and jeans and see a forest of denim blues. But my fashion senses were tingling for more! With a turn in a wide legged and color blocking direction with women’s clothing, we can now find pants in my favorite shade of any kind of women’s apparel: cobalt blue!

Events are lining up for the onset of fashion week launching in Paris for men’s fashion, so we are set to see the trends filtering through Europe that will soon reach us. So imagine my delight when a color that has always held its place in my heart with women’s clothing, is now becoming more prevalent in the streets for fashionistas to flaunt and photographers and bloggers to document! The options we have when piecing together something with cobalt blue, are endless!

One unlikely combination of colors is wearing a pair of cobalt blue pants with a nude top. Women’s clothing looks best when you catch your viewers off guard so taking such a bold step and color like cobalt blue and mixing it with a soft nude blouse on top tucked in, looks amazingly chic. You can take two roads with the type of shoes you prefer to wear and it could either be a clean white pair of platform heels or a pair of brown platform heels. The reason for the platform and why it’s so necessary in this outfit is due to the pants.

There’s nothing quite like a perfectly fitted pair of pants on your long stems. Elongated pants with the right amount of drama in its swoosh is all we need for women’s apparel. Whether you’re tall or average height, the elgance in the free flowing material of these cobalt blue pants will make you look like royalty. There’s just something irreplacable about the crisp color of cobalt blue that no other shade of blue can replicate. (more…)

Wide and Wild!

Friday, December 16th, 2011

With the onset of winter rolling in to both coasts, we need to consider our options for fashionable women’s clothing that will be both functional and style friendly. But while pants are always on the agenda for these colder seasons, you can’t just settle with any kind of pants. Let’s keep our radars on for filtering what’s hot in the NOW and as fashion shows and the world’s most renown designers have shown us, it’s all about the wide legged trousers. Yes, these dramatic sweeping trousers give women’s fashion clothing a run for its money as its fashion flaire may just keep these beauties around for more than just a season.

For nights out on the town and events in the evening, we can always resort to an alternative source of fashion next to our little black dresses. Looking lady-like and elegant can work with trousers when you wear the silky wide legged trousers that sashay perfectly as you hit a wide stride when making your presence known at your event. With women’s clothing becoming more minimalistic, it’s nice to see a new direction the wide legged trousers are taking.

The top to pair with these wide trousers with is simple and easy! Any blouse with a thin fabric to give it wind when walking, with a simple and feminine pattern would look amazing tucked into the trousers. Women’s fashion clothing gives us more options than that so you can take it to a grunge rocker-glam level when wearing a leather biker cropped jacket. The cropped cut of the women’s leather jacket gives your waist the cinched look to make your body maintain its shape.

The dangers of wearing pants like this is the fear of the shape of the wide legged trousers swallowing up your figure. So make sure when you wear blouses, you should definitely tuck it in to maintain shape. When wanting to wear a jacket, for a hard look, try a cropped leather jacket or a cropped blazer with a tailored cut and a defined collar. Or to keep things sweet and cozy, you can tuck in a soft sweater and pair it with a matching cropped cardigan too for a more Mad Men-look.

For shoes, what’s best to wear with these sweeping trousers, make sure you wear a pair of fabulous platform high heels. You want to make sure these pants do not drag on the ground or slouch too much when it meets your shoes. Wearing platform high heels will definitely allow you to have that extra height to elongate your look even further! You can decorate your outfit with the choice of colors and patterns with your high heels so have fun with your mixing and matching to perfect your terrific trouser look!

Still Pleasantly Posh!

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

Can this woman be stopped? I think not! Not only is Victoria Beckham adding a beautiful baby girl to her brood, and still beating Hollywood’s odds with one of the most handsome athletes on this planet Earth, but she is still cranking out some of New York’s hottest fashion.

Set at the New York Public Library with a gong and a moment of silence to remember the fallen on September 11th, Victoria Beckham’s show began on a somber note but rocked the house as each model began walking out in true Victoria Beckham’s signature women’s dresses. Known for her eye to detail in the structure of each dress, apparently as intricately sewn from the inside to the outside (as it should be!), Victoria brought a new air of sporty mixed with utilitarian to bring down the house in her magical sheaths that work as still some of the most wearable women’s dresses out there.

Although another key piece that is typically associated with the ex Spice girl, is her platform heels with its quiet one-tone plush vibe that matches the classy shades of her dresses and gowns. But this show brought forth a new version of Beckham’s platform high heel shoes with a variety of colors and the subtle trend of the Mary Jane strap around the ankle that has been giving way to many runway shows this fashion month all across the globe.

In an almost Prada design, Victoria Beckham’s shoes layer with the platform heels having its own shade while the upper of the shoe dons a shade all its own. But of course, it is delightfully pieced together to perfectly match the shades of a simple women’s dress to bring unity to an entire look even amongst its variety of colors. One of my favorite pieces had to be Victoria’s dress in a red and white combination sheath that comes down to the thigh but with an outline of black scallops along the top and bottom hem of the skirt. With a pair of black Mary Jane platform high heel shoes with a bright red platform and a shiny black top, the shoes plus the Alice in Wonderland-esque dress create a fun and glamorous outfit with that signature Beckham line.

Colors are still here to stay for the upcoming Spring fashion that is fast approaching. Can you believe 2011 is almost over?? Fall and winter will be here in no time and Spring will come and we will revisit these trend alerts again as we shuffle through our dress section of our closets! Bright solid hue dresses were still a major part of Victoria Beckham’s line, so keep up with your collection of bright emerald greens, cobalt blues and ruby reds to stack up for a colorful set of seasons to come!
