Five Closet Must Haves So You’re Always Party-Ready

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

With Holiday parties come a big dilemma—what to wear for the party. With the Holiday shopping rush in full swing, on-the-spot shopping may be a little stressful. If your Holiday schedule is still not filled up with parties to attend, we recommend doing some check up of your closet. Find out if you have these five closet must haves so you’re always ready to party. If not, party at your own risk.

1. Little Black Dress. This not-so-little piece of fabric can take you places. The length is ideal as party wear and it can also be worn to more formal affairs. Just because it’s called little does it mean that it’s not modest. Some LBDs fall right below the knee. There are many fabrics that you can choose from, depending on which one you are most comfortable with but the most common are satin and velvet.

2. Ankle Boots. Ankle boots are all the rage today. It’s because they’re comfortable, they’re funky and they’re very flexible. Wear ankle boots with a skirt, with a dress or with a pair of jeans. The best way to shop for ankle boots? Buy it in different colors.

3. Clutch Bag. This is an often-overlooked accessory in the closet. Usually, you just realize that you need the “perfect” clutch bag when you look at the mirror and you see that something is missing. Make sure this does not happen to you by stocking up on a clutch bag. Go for those with clean lines and subtle details so you can use it with more outfits. You can also opt for those that come with a loop or strap but remember, the best way to hold it is to clutch it.

4. Dressy Mules. Of the many types of women’s shoes available, a pair of dressy mules is one of the most handy pairs of footwear for parties. Like ankle boots, dressy mules are flexible and because it covers your toes, sheer hosiery won’t be a problem.

5. Beaded Top. A sparkly head-to-toe outfit may seem tacky but a beaded top is just the right touch of sparkle. Wear it with a straight skirt or black trousers, pull your hair back and put on red lipstick for that classic and chic party look.
