Karl Lagerfeld brought another surge of color into his world of simple shades and intricate designs with his
Fall collection for 2011. Following the trend in women’s clothing, Karl’s marked color that popped out to me, was the fuchsia color we cannot seem to get enough of in women’s clothing. And who else could bring forth such a
fluorescent shade in such a classy way besides the Chanel powerhouse designer?
We are in the midst of a transition in fashion today. The wheels of fashion revolution are spinning and we’re giving ode to the earlier times where instead of women’s dresses, there were suits and long knee-length skirts. This may come as an inconvenience to those accustomed to the shorts and the micro mini skirts, but try to see through the eyes of Chanel’s Fall collection and give a new look to the women’s dress by trying a two piece outfit with a skirt and a blazer.
What I love about his collection may not necessarily be the actual women’s clothing, but the details in how he accessorized the models to bring out the true form of the clothing. The lace covering of the eyes and the fingerless gloves are details that may or may not go unnoticed but you have to
appreciate the attention to details to bring a bit of grunge and mystery to a flawless collection.
The dress suits of Lagerfeld’s collection show an impeccable take on the lady-like style of what we now dub as office friendly. The structure of the skirt-like pop of the suit jacket and the clean lines on the skirt make this outfit something to wear on any day out at the office or to a tea party!
The over the knee boots in a similar shade to the gloves make this look even more unfamiliar to the typical styling of a suit skirt outfit, that we can now start dusting off our over the knee boots from winter and consider pairing them with a suit skirt duo of our own.
Check out the styles of jackets and blazers on these models and consider how you can take your own blazers and pair them up with a sexy skirt or even a maxi skirt- as we know those are back with a passion. And rather than wearing a pair of high heels or sandals, pull up your over the knee boots for full coverage and a sleek look that even through slits will expose the dark pattern of your boots.
