Beyonce’s Furry Bundle of Joy

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

The ever stylish Beyonce was spotted out in New York Tuesday, with her and Jay-z’s 3 month old daughter Blue Ivy.  Beyonce was seen wearing an oversized heather grey cardigan paired with a darker grey pair of skinny jeans. Beyonce set her look off with a bright pair of yellow stilettos and black circle sunglasses. What about Blue, you ask? We haven’t been able to see much of the newborn outside of baby slings and shoes options, but we know given her parents she’s stylish! Beyonce was sure to keep her warm and close in a fur baby wrap. No word on whether the wrap is faux fur or not, but we imagine if it’s not Beyonce will be receiving a few phone calls from PETA.

We reported earlier this week about Kim Kardashian being flour bombed by an avid anti fur supporter. Although PETA denies involvement in the act against the Kardashian , they also support the message that was supposed to be transmitted in the action. With anti fur activist taking physical measures to get their points across, not so sure this fur number would be the best idea for Pop Icon Beyonce Knowles.

Beyonce is slated to hit the stage in three exclusive, Memorial Day weakened, shows. This will be her first time in concert post having baby Blue! We’re excited to see her costuming choices for the show, and to see her perform!!

Green with Envy!

Friday, February 24th, 2012

With the flurry of colors, prints and textures we’ve been seeing all year long, it’s hard to really hone in on one particular style that you can feel rest assured is going to make it big for you. So when it comes down to buying shoes, what do we always end up doing? Lots of blacks, neutrals and dare we go into animal print? It’s just a big risk to end up buying a pair of something so out of your norm, and then watch it fade into fashion just as fast as it made its entrance.

With women’s shoes, it can be a little tricky, but we can definitely use this guessing game to our advantage.  And guess no more! Because as your resident fashion guru, I’m here to tell you that the color to definitely stock up on is my favorite: green! I know, although we can’t imagine a world without this color, many times we leave the good color of green out of the equation to our own collection of women’s shoes. It’s time to break the mold!

Whether it’s a pair of fashion boots or summer’s high heels, it’s time to start thinking green and preparing to whip these out when you’re throwing together your latest outfit. Not only has the green revolution hit the rest of the world, but it has hit the fashion industry hard. There’s nothing like adding a touch of nature to your outfit by adding a green accent in the form of a pair of women’s shoes. (more…)

Shining Bright in Silver!

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

With all the bright shades of neon contrasting with the rough and tough-ness of leather, it’s sometimes a wonder trying to figure out which shoes to pair such an outfit with. When working with different colors and textures without a traditional line of styling to use a framework to use, times can get taxing when trying to figure out with pair of women’s shoes to put on. How many of us have let precious minutes of our lives tick past as we sat in dismal deliberation? But deliberate no more ladies! The trick is to always have with you a fabulous pair of silver high heel pumps!

My favorite way to style a flashy pair of silver high heels would be to wear them with a black leather bottom, in the form of either a pleated skirt or finely tailored leather shorts, and a magnificent blouse in a bold print and preferably a neon shade. Loud doesn’t even begin to describe how we want to shout from the rooftops how fabulous fashion can be in a woman’s world, and neon does just the trick. But don’t resort to wearing your typical pair of black women’s shoes. That’s been done before and when you’re tired of the same ‘ol, it’s time to reach for something more cosmic: reach for the sparkling stars!

Silver high heels have a way of catching your eye and adding just the right amount of glimmer in your outfit. If doing neon and leather isn’t your thing, Alexander Wang has taught us that even the most delicate of shades and cuts of women’s clothing can still look just as good in juxtaposition with a pair of twinkling silver high heel pumps. Model Hanneli Mustaparta has been seen all over the street of Europe and New York sporting silver loafers or silver high heels with a pale pink or pale green maxi dress with a sexy slit. (more…)

Tea for Two!

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

With women’s dresses always taking on a life of its own depending on the fashionable times, it’s rare to see in true classic form, a women’s cocktail dress that stays true to its femininity while maintaining a modern edge and just the right amount of sexy for you to keep on wanting to re-wear it.

But our favorite fashionistas have brought back to life a vintage look for women’s dresses that are now flooding the red carpet and igniting designers to follow suit in a style that defies time. I am talking about the tea-length dress. It’s the perfect dress for a night out to a fashionable and classy event. What I love about this perfect twist to a women’s cocktail dress, is the shape. When it comes to wearing a single piece of cloth woven together to give you a flattering figure and a style all your own, its important to keep in mind HOW this dress will fit on your shape.

Not every woman has the same body and we know that certain styles of clothing don’t flatter every build. But the beauty of the tea-length dress is its sweet demeanor as it flows all the way to the middle of your calves. Some go a little further to your ankles but barely sweep the top of your feet as it flares out in a decorative fashion that is so amazingly unique on a dress and gives you the perfect petaling out of fabric to create a flower-like quality and shape to a women’s dress that is perfect for a tea party or a formal event.

Some of Hollywood’s A-list actresses have been on the forefront to this new fashion and have worn their personal favorites to their red carpet events. Anne Hathaway and Olivia Wilde have both found that lace is the perfect match to the feminine shape of the tea-length flare dress. Anne wore a white lace tea-length flare dress while Olivia took a more rare color in lace- red (trend alert!) and wore it to her debut too. (more…)

Emerald Dreams

Monday, December 5th, 2011

For those nights out when you seem to have it all figured out with your ‘do and then you realize… you do not possess a fabulous-enough clutch to throw your lipgloss, ID and phone into… do not fear. Prepare, instead.

In all fashion crises, I say, it’s better to be prepared way in advance than to have to scramble for something last minute. This is why even the smallest women’s accessories are important to stock up on when you come across something golden. A clutch can either hide in the message of your outfit, or it can be that determining piece in your outfit that makes all the difference. When throwing together your ensemble for a night out, even if you’re wearing a pair of trousers of a women’s dress, slip into a pair of gorgeous high heels and grab a beautiful emerald clutch and you’re set to go!

Of all colors, why are we choosing to put the emerald into the spotlight? Well, if we take a look at Fall trends in fashion, we can see that jewel tone shades are all the rage right now. Although the obvious may be to purchase a fifth of your wardrobe size in jewel tones, the cycle of fashion doesn’t always permit for one trend to stick around for too long. This is how women’s accessories take us so far into each season and can remain true to our style even years after the fads have diminished. (more…)
