#ThrowbackThursday

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

This week we’ve been chatting it up about our new Asassyn Heel!! We’re in love with the shoe, you’re in love with the shoe, and she’s in love with the shoe! You’re probably wondering who SHE is, right? Two words, Lady Gaga.  We continue to be inspired by Lady Gaga’s ever changing style. She’s not afraid to push the envelope and really dive into fashion head first. Our Asassyn shoes are truly a tribute to her style and cutting edge take on fashion. Take a look at a few pics of Lady Gaga in her heel less platforms. You can see how she would inspire a shoe like the Asassyn.

Lime & Pink Lemonade!

Friday, October 7th, 2011

It is for certain that a variety of colors are signaled in to be heralded for this upcoming Spring season. There’s no doubt that it will then also carry over into our summer, and do we really mind when these shades and tones we see are what really flatter any skin tone and make any piece of women’s apparel look amazingly bright? Neons have been around for a while now and we see it in everything from men and women’s apparel, on plaid and on t-shirt graphics, to shoes and accessories.

But you know when a color has made it when it graces one of the most beautifully structured women’s evening dresses New York Fashion Week has ever seen. In a neon lime green number, Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 Ready to Wear collection made headlines with his gorgeous collection of women’s apparel that made heads turn. A noted favorite with a generous head nod from the First Lady, designer Jason Wu did not disappoint anyone with his innovative styles mixed with the Spring’s boldest shades.

It’s not easy taking a women’s evening dress and incorporating such a vibrant color that isn’t readily worn or accepted by most in the evening gown wearing community. But with a strapless bodice and a thin black belt tied with an elegant bow in the front, Jason Wu has done justice to the shade and the style with what I personally find to be my favorite piece of NYFW period. Yes. I did just say that.

And to make things even sweeter, Jason Wu mixed and matched a popular hip color such as neon green and tied it into his collection by balancing with a sweet pink lemonade shade and neutral hues such as gray to balance it all out at the very end.

But one of the classy was to infuse so many different points and styles of fashion into one direct look, would be to do what Jason Wu did here: pink + black + spots of gray. You can’t argue with that! With a high-low pink chiffon skirt that is lightly pleated for added texture value, the skirt is accented with a patterned black blouse with a print that’s not too much and doesn’t take too much strength and outshines the skirt. Rather, the blouse and skirt work beautifully together to allow the greatest part of all: a wonderful pair of black high heel shoes!

With such a feminine look even from the hair to the makeup, it’s fun to switch things up and not take one avenue of fashion so seriously. With a little rock and roll edge, these black high heel shoes accompany this jaded ballerina look and brings about the idea of which fashion is based on: personalized style! See, you may not have thought of adding all these elements together into one, but through the inspiration and eye of those around us, we can pilfer through our own closets to create a look that’s all our own. Have fun!

All Ruffled Up!

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Women, although we may claim to not be drama queens, who says we can’t add some drama into our style? Who knows, it may not be in our nature to stir up some trouble with friends and boys, but you can feel free to express as much drama as you want through women’s fashion clothing! Cue: ruffles!

With Byzantine colors taking over women’s fashion clothing after Chanel’s recent fashion show, we’re seeing these pristine shades of royalty on fabrics that are best showcased when tied up and turned into a plethora of ruffles on a blouse. Blouses are one of the most versatile pieces of women’s fashion clothing that does not need to be defined to a certain time of day or style of event. The right blouse can turn your outfit completely 180 degrees and the more flair to it the better!

Hollywood’s sweethearts have been photographed wearing ruffled blouses up and down the red carpet and we can see why this trend is not going anywhere anytime soon! With the ruffles coming in all shapes and locations along a blouse’s line, the options it gives us should keep us creating and re-creating outfits to our heart’s content! (more…)

Statuesque Statements!

Monday, September 12th, 2011

Have you ever witnessed for yourself, a fabulous woman walking down the street in a treacherously looking pair of very high high heels? It’s almost like watching an acrobat walk across a tight rope in a circus, but isn’t that the price we willingly, voluntarily and excitedly pay for a fabulous pair of high heel shoes?

I am no different, I confess. And I take pride many a times at accomplishing hours upon hours of balancing and hoisting myself up on a pair of 3 to 5 inch high heel shoes that make me monstrous in height, but my goodness… this is fashion ladies! The higher the heel, the more fabulous the view I tell you! As the styles of shoes become more and more creative as old and new designers are now embracing the more comical side of patterns and styles, we are now partaking in this revolution of high heel pumps where we may or may not have to chuck comfort out the window to play the game we so desperately want to play. Metal Metallic!

Monday, September 12th, 2011

If you’re ever feeling like your outfit’s a little too sweet, it’s time to jazz it up a bit with a metallic blazer that will give it the luster and shine needed to amp up the voltage with your evening look! Trendy women’s clothing is always fun to follow but the last thing you may want is to look like you’re wearing the exact same thing as the woman standing right next to you! Oh the horror! So you take pieces of trendy women’s clothing that may not be on everyone’s radar and you start lacing these key pieces into your outfits to stand out like a star!

One of my favorite most versatile (really!) pieces of women’s clothing has to be the blazer. In almost any given circumstance, throwing on a blazer over your outfit, and especially over a women’s dress, works and then some. Be it a work meeting, a hot date, or even to attend a friend’s wedding, the blazer becomes your best friend in all its structured shouldered beauty. Nevermind the fact that rolling up the sleeves gives it even more of a reason to be adored, the metallic blazer then, is one item that has now become swoon-worthy!

Actresses such as Blake Lively and Vanessa Hudgens have been hailed as some of the most fashionable young starlets out there. So when both are snapped by the paparazzi wearing a metallic blazer, you know it’s made its way into our world of clothing. The easiest way to really wear such a bold piece of clothing would be to wear it on top of a sweet women’s dress. I imagine that it is not always as comfortable 75 degrees outside wherever we are, and sometimes, putting on a jacket can just kill the whole look and vibe of the outfit you’ve taken such thoughtful time to piece together.

Enter the metallic blazer! The metallic blazer literally saves us in moments such as these, where weather does not permit us to bare our shoulders any longer, no matter how cute of an outfit it is, but we want to hang on to our own sense of style even in outerwear. The metallic blazer acts as a balancing piece when you’re wearing a feminine dress or even a blouse tucked into a skirt or a pair of cuffed shorts. With the metallic blazer giving you a punk rock glam edge, no matter what else you have going on, you’re sure to bring the house down.

With a blazer, it is also important to make sure your lengths of clothing fit in accordance to the length of your blazer. Nowadays, blazers are coming in all different cuts and lengths so make sure to safeguard yourself with a pair of high heels that will give you that extra lift to elongate your figure. With the varied colors that come in metallic, don’t hesitate to play with your color palate of high heels, or if you want the no-brainer, it’s always safe to go with sexy black heels! Have fun with your exploration of today’s shiniest piece of women’s outerwear.
