Returns and Refunds

MakeMeChic offers an EASY & NO-HASSLE return policy!

If for any reason you are not satisfied with an item, you may return it for a refund within thirty (30) days of purchase. Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable for non-defective returns. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Where applicable, any restocking fees are applied according to the total purchase price of the order.

Refunded amounts are non-negotiable, and are calculated according to the purchase price of the items being returned to us. Sales are final for all clearance items.

Items must be returned in their original, unworn condition within thirty (30) days of the purchase date. If returned items have been worn, a 50% restocking fee will be applied. Items must have all tags still attached and must be received in their original packaging material. Send items packaged in a protective box or shoe boxes must be wrapped with thick paper/plastic. Items returned without original tags or returned unwrapped will be subject to a 20%-per-item restocking fee. Items must be accompanied by the original invoice. The reason for returning an item (e.g.: sizing error, manufacture defect, etc.) must be clearly stated on the original invoice.

Once we receive and process a return/exchange, we will issue a refund within fifteen (15) business days. Refunds will be sent via the original payment method used for the order. E.g.: If an order was paid via PayPal, the refund would be sent to your PayPal account. If an order was paid via credit card, it may take three (3) to five (5) business days to post to your account, depending on your bank and/or credit agency. If you do not receive your refund within fifteen (15) business days of our receiving and processing your return, please contact us at orders@makemechic.com with your order information. To expedite the process, please include your order number, relevant item numbers, and return tracking info.

If a package is refused or undeliverable, it is the buyer's responsibility to contact us to request reshipment. Reshipments will incur a reshipping fee. If a reshipment is not requested, we will issue a refund, less all shipping fees.

No returns will be accepted for clearance items (products $10 or less).

All sales are final for costumes, lingerie, swimwear, accessories, and international orders.

All promotions applied to an order, including any free shipping promotions, will be subject to adjustment on returns, cancellations, and exchanges.

Exchanges

If you are unhappy with your purchase, you may ship the item back to us to make an exchange. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Please note, all unwanted items must be returned in their original, unworn condition within thirty (30) days of the purchase date.

We cannot hold an item for a customer for an exchange.

To exchange an item:

  1. In our webstore, find the new items you wish to exchange for your unwanted items.
  2. Purchase the new items: proceed with checkout and immediately pay for the items.
  3. Note down the order number for the new purchase.
  4. On the top of the original invoice for the unwanted items, write "Exchange" and the new order number (e.g.: "Exchange 1234567").
  5. Package the unwanted items securely: place them in a protective box and wrap them with thick paper (unwrapped items will be subject to a 20%-per-item restocking fee).
  6. Send back the unwanted items to us at:

  7. Once we receive and process the unwanted items, we will issue a refund for them.

To send back items at the lowest cost to you, we recommend using USPS Priority mail.

Please keep a record of your tracking number and include the tracking number in any correspondence relating to your exchange.

If "Exchange" is not noted on the unwanted items' invoice, the received items will be treated as a return, subject to the policies outlined in the returns and refunds section.

Items received unwrapped or received without the original box will be subject to a 20%-per-item restocking fee.

Shipping and handling fees will not be refunded if the original items received free shipping.

Merchandise

MakeMeChic carries extensive selections of footwear and sells hundreds of pairs of shoes each week; as a result, our inventory changes rapidly. All of our products that are in stock are accurately reflected on the website at all times. If an item is not listed on our website, we do not have it in stock.

All available size and measurement information is displayed with the item listing. All measurements are accurate to ±1". Our website shows all manufacturer-provided information, plus any extra measurements we take, e.g.: heel height or boot shaft height. The width of each product is generally listed within the auction sub-heading or description. Where not otherwise specified, a given product is assumed to be regular or medium width. Since all shoes are securely packed and prepared for shipping once listed, we cannot take additional measurements for listed items.

MakeMeChic sells only brand-new, first-quality merchandise purchased directly from manufacturers. All shoes are unworn and shipped in shoe boxes. Clearance items may not be shipped with shoe boxes.

If items are not available due to manufacture defects, we will immediately issue a refund. In these cases, we will make the best effort to notify you of the refund.

MakeMeChic generally updates inventory every day. If items are not listed, they are currently out of stock. Out-of-stock items are generally reordered within three (3) weeks; if such items are unable to be reordered, those items become discontinued items.

All sales are FINAL for Leg Avenue Items. Please allow 5~7 business days to ship.

Orders

Due to possible fraud and abuse, MakeMeChic does not accept cancellations via email: all cancellations must be tendered by phone.

The normal turnaround time for processing orders is two (2) to four (4) business days after payment is received and cleared, excluding weekends and holidays. Once the payment is cleared, orders are sent to our warehouse the next business day. Once items are ready to ship, we will send you an email notification with your tracking information.

MakeMeChic uses a secure online checkout that allows you to save money on shipping (by combining multiple items), confirm your address, and pay for your purchase through a streamlined, convenient interface.

MakeMeChic requires each buyer to have an email address. The email address must be provided to MakeMeChic during checkout. If there are issues with an order, MakeMeChic will contact customers via email.

For our buyers' protection, both billing and shipping addresses must match if an order is paid using a credit card. If you need us to ship to an address other than your billing address, please enter the address in the "special instructions" box.

Once you have completed checkout, you may check the status of your order at any time:

When ordering an item, please make sure the size, color, and description are what you actually want: please do not purchase one size/color and ask for another. Do not continue to checkout for items you do not intend to pay for.

If items are not paid for within three (3) days, our automated system will start to issue payment reminder emails. If payment has still not been received after ten (10) days, the order will be cancelled and items will be re-listed for sale.

We cannot edit orders or combine items for orders that have already completed checkout.

If you would like items from both our eBay store and MakeMeChic.com, please win the auction first from our eBay store (but do not complete checkout), then purchase the item from our web store with the same email address. Our checkout system will automatically combine all items with the same email address.

All sales are final for clearance items.

International Orders

For all international orders, all policies listed in the orders section apply, except where directly contradicted by policies given in this section.

All international orders are subject to duties, taxes and fees as determined by your local government. FedEx and USPS only act as the collectors for the fees due to Customs, and may issue additional invoices as a part of the duties and taxes imposed by your country's customs department. The customer is responsible for all duties and taxes. Customs fees are determined on a case-by-case basis. MakeMeChic is not responsible for any additional charges imposed by your country's government. If an order is purchased as a gift, please specify that in the "special instructions" box during checkout: in those cases, we can mark the package as a gift.

All international orders are final and are not eligible for return or exchange. Any received international returns will be considered unauthorized and will incur a 50% restocking fee.

If a package is refused or undeliverable, it is the buyer's responsibility to contact us to request reshipment. Reshipments will incur a reshipping fee. If a reshipment is not requested, we will issue a refund, less all shipping fees.

Payment

MakeMeChic will send you a confirmation email when your payment is received.

Orders will be cancelled for customers who do not complete our online checkout within ten (10) days.

Our store will not hold items: once an item is purchased, it will get removed from our listing immediately. If an error occurred during checkout, please email orders@makemechic.com to receive a link to allow you to checkout again.

MakeMeChic accepts payment in US dollars only.

MakeMeChic accepts the following forms of payment:

  • American Express
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Discover
  • Paypal
  • eCheck (via PayPal)

eChecks are processed like regular checks and may take Paypal up to fifteen (15) days to clear. MakeMeChic will not ship an order until payment has cleared. For expedited shipping, MakeMeChic does not recommend paying via eCheck.

PayPal payments received outside of the MakeMeChic checkout process will delay your order.

Customers who have paid, but who still received an "unpaid item" email reminder are encouraged to contact us at orders@makemechic.com with their transaction ID. Once contacted, we will check/correct the payment so that processing can continue.

Customers who are late in paying are encouraged to email us, providing their order number and the email address used to place the order. If the items in the order are still in stock, we may be able to reopen checkout and allow you to pay for the items. However, since MakeMeChic automatically re-lists unpaid items after ten (10) days, the customer will need to reorder the item again, assuming it is still available online.

Shipping

If a package is refused or undeliverable, it is the buyer's responsibility to contact us to request reshipment. Reshipments will incur a reshipping fee. If a reshipment is not requested, we will issue a refund, less all shipping fees.

If an item has not been shipped within ten (10) business days, customers are encouraged to contact us immediately at orders@makemechic.com with their order number, so that we can quickly resolve any outstanding issues with the order.

Within the 48 contiguous U.S. states, MakeMeChic offers free shipping for orders over $50 (enter promotion code during checkout).

MakeMeChic offers shipping rates by actual weight of the items purchased. Standard Ground shipping quotes can be estimated when you view your shopping cart. Expedited shipping may be selected during actual checkout.

Domestic shipping within the 48 contiguous U.S. states is generally handled by:

  • FedEx Ground Service
  • USPS Priority Mail

Generally, these methods take two (2) to seven (7) business days for delivery. FedEx Ground is our standard shipping method for all domestic packages. Purchased items shipped via FedEx are automatically insured for their full value. Signature confirmation (insurance) may be purchased at checkout for additional fee. Customers are expected to leave a valid contact number during checkout to ensure that they can be reached by FedEx: in certain cases, FedEx will call you to verify where you would like your package left.

Orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail for buyers who have one of these addresses:

  • PO Boxes
  • US territories (eg. PR, Virgin Islands, Guam)
  • Military bases (e.g. APOs/FPOs, AE)
  • Hawaii
  • Alaska

Shipments via USPS Priority Mail normally take approximately seven (7) to ten (10) business days. Orders shipped out via USPS Priority Mail will be shipped out with delivery confirmation only. After an order is shipped out, you will be sent a tracking number. You can track your order by visiting the FedEx or USPS website, as appropriate. Because the post office does not scan the label during pick up, USPS tracking numbers will only be updated when the package is actually delivered. International orders require extra time for customs and inspection: please allow up to five (5) extra business days for international orders.

* Cutoff time for FedEx 2nd Day, Overnight, and USPS Express Mail service is 9:00 A.M. PST. If you pay before 9:00 A.M., we will be able to process your order on the same business day. You will, in general, receive the package by 3:00 P.M.; in other areas, you may receive your package by 7:00 P.M. FedEx 2nd Day and Overnight service is not available for:

  • PO Boxes
  • US territories (eg. PR, Virgin Islands, Guam)

***FedEx only delivers Monday-Friday and is closed: Saturdays-Sundays. For more details, please visit the FedEx website. USPS Express Mail may take up to five (5) business days. For more details, please visit the USPS website.

* Residents living in Alberta, British Colombia, Ontario, and Quebec are usually shipped with FedEx. All residents living outside of these areas will most likely be shipped via USPS. Please note that some addresses in Canada have a surcharge because of location. In such cases, we reserve the right to ship the shoes by USPS priority mail international. These services are not trackable and are not insured.

If your country is not listed in our checkout list, please contact us and we can double check to see if we are able to ship to you.

Packages damaged or lost during transit are the responsibility of the shipping company: MakeMeChic cannot and does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of any package during transit. If the package is damaged or lost in transit and was shipped via FedEx, the customer must report any damages to us: we as the shipper will file an insurance claim for you. FedEx typically takes ten (10) to fifteen (15) busines days to process insurance claims. In cases where the FedEx website shows the package status as "delivered," FedEx may refuse to accept responsibility for the loss of the package. To expedite the process, the customer is expected to also file an insurance claim with FedEx.

Undeliverable packages are returned to us by the shipping company. It is the buyer's responsibility to contact us to request reshipment with the new corrected address. Reshipping fees will be charged on all reshipments. If we do not receive any contact from the customer within a week of the package being returned, we will issue a refund, less the shipping costs. All packages are shipped based on the address provided during checkout. It is the responsibility of the cusomter to ensure that the delivery address is correct. Deliveries to companies should have the company name entered in the company field.

Because MakeMeChic is not a retail store, we cannot allow customers to pickup their items directly from our warehouse.

Defective/Damaged Merchandise

Very rarely, our items may be damaged in some non-obvious way (e.g.: manufacture defects or hidden damage). If you happen to receive such an item, please contact us at orders@makemechic.com prior to leaving any feedback. To expedite the process, please include images of the defect. We will provide speedy and prompt attention to your issue, and after reviewing the circumstances of the error, we will send further instructions on how to resolve the issue. If a defective or damaged item needs to be shipped back to us, we will fully reimburse shipping back to us via USPS Priority Mail. Upon our receiving and processing the defective or damaged item, we will, at our discretion, either send you the correct item (free of charge) or issue a full refund (including shipping and handling).

Privacy

MakeMeChic receives certain information from users when they visit our website.

For users who only browse our website, we collect and store only the following information:

  • The name of the domain and/or IP address from where the user accesses the Internet
  • The date and time the user accesses our site
  • The internet address of the website the user used to access our site

MakeMeChic uses this information to statistically model:

  • The number of visitors to the different sections of our site
  • The relevance of information provided by the site
  • The efficacy of technical design specifications
  • Overall system performance
  • Site bottlenecks and/or problem areas

MakeMeChic also uses collected user information for security purposes:

  • To ensure that our website remains available for all users
  • To identify unauthorized access attempts
  • To prevent malicious changes to the website
MakeMeChic will not obtain personally-identifying information (e.g.: your name, address, or phone number) about users when they visit our site, unless they choose to provide such information to us. Any information so received from users will not be sold or transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user at the time of collection.

If a user sends us an email containing personal information, that information will be only used to respond to that user's message.

MakeMeChic takes spam, fraud, and privacy issues very seriously: we are highly protective of our customer's personal information and will not share our customer's personal information with anyone. Our web site uses customer contact information from the registration form to send our customer information about their order, saving coupons and promotional material from our company only. Users may opt-out of our email list or mailings at any time by sending us an email at orders@makemechic.com to request to be removed from our email list.

This site contains links to other internet sites. MakeMeChic is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such web sites. If you find objectionable material on a linked site or if there is a problem linking to another site from MakeMeChic, please contact the webmaster at orders@makemechic.com.

MakeMeChic has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. All credit card information utilizes state-of-the-art Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology and is SET compliant.

MakeMeChic will only yield personal information when so compelled by a warrant from law enforcement or by a subpoena from a court of law.
